Originally from Maine in the United States, I'm an aspiring multimedia storyteller dedicated to heightening my writing, video production, photography and blogging skills. Fluent in Spanish and particularly attuned to Latin American politics, U.S. foreign policy, and meaningful political reforms in areas such as race relations, homophobia, immigration, education, and today's industrial prison system. Other causes near and dear to my heart include: indigenous land rights, remedying the achievement gap, sustainable development, corporate accountability, and watchdog journalism. Prior international reporting projects include: writing features about a Quechua indigenous school in Quito, Ecuador, producing a promotional documentary for a Vermont-based non-profit in Haiti eight months after the 2010 earthquake, and interviewing survivors from Guatemala's ongoing Internal Armed Conflict.
